The Apple Orchard is so happy to invite infants and their families back into our little corner of the world! The follow is all you need to know (or at least MOST) about infant care at The AO:
Needed Items: Pack ‘n Play, Sleep Sack (no blankets or other objects may be placed in the crib), change of clothing, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, pacifier (if used) & burp clothes. If your child is sitting up and 6 months old, they will need an age appropriate sippy cup. If your child is on formula, please bring 3 bottles to remain at daycare and one can of formula.
Breast Fed Babies: If your baby is breastfed, they MUST be BOTTLE READY for daycare! This is a MUST for your child to attend The Apple Orchard! Having a child come to daycare with the bottle being a foreign object, as you can imagine, makes for a very unhappy baby and a near impossible feeding situation for your child’s caregivers. Please bring enough PREPARED breast milk bottles for the day as well as one bag of frozen breast milk in case of a spillage or emergency. Your bottles will be sent home with you daily.
The Apple Orchard has what we refer to as “The Baby Cave”. This is a room specific for our infants to nap and be changed as well as store all of their belongings. The Baby Cave in downstairs in the daycare area. We also have a video/audio monitor in The BC. This is a cozy space for your little one!
We also have bouncy seats, swings and activity mats. Several times a day, when age appropriate, will practice their tummy time. This is so important since infants sleep on their backs; those neck muscles and their upper bodies need that exercise!
While our infants set their own schedules for sleeping/feeding, your have selected group care for your infant. So while it is our philosophy to work with our parents, parents must remember that we have more than one child to care for.
We will help your child reach all their age appropriate milestones! All activities (meals, diapers, playtime, tummy time, story time) will be recorded on our Brightwheel app. This is a very valuable resource as you’re tracking feedings, etc.
